We owe our friendship to cigars!
That’s the magic of them! Polski Aficionado is living proof that cigars bring people together. A project that simply wouldn’t exist without cigars. It has connected people from different backgrounds and cities across Poland. It shouldn’t have worked, and yet… here we are!
The result of our cigar gatherings is this very website. What started as a simple cigar journal has evolved into a full-fledged cigar portal, the Spotkanie z Dymem podcast, and real-life meetups – which are the essence of it all.

It all started in 2017 when, for my 30th birthday, I decided to make one of my dreams come true – learning how to smoke a pipe. Not long after, in 2018, I had my first cigar. And from that moment on, both cigars and pipes have been a part of my life.
Even though a few years have passed – and I’ve burned through plenty of cigars and pipe tobacco – I don’t consider myself an expert. I’m still learning new things, and I see myself more as a passionate enthusiast rather than a experienced aficionado.
For me, cigars and pipes are, above all, about taking a moment for myself – something I rarely get to do otherwise. I enjoy smoking my pipe alone because it helps me reflect. But cigars? That’s a whole different story. The social aspect of cigars is just as important to me as the smoke itself. After all, our project’s motto is ‘Cigars bring people together’, and I truly believe that’s the best part of this hobby.
I enjoy different cigars and never limit myself to just one style or flavor. When it comes to pipe tobacco, I prefer natural blends – as pure and unflavored as possible. I rarely smoke the same cigar twice in a short time. Instead, I try something new whenever I can.
My tastings naturally lead to reviews – not perfect ones, and certainly not objective. I simply write about what I experience in the moment and my general impressions. Some say you can’t truly review a cigar after smoking just one, and honestly, I kind of agree. But that hasn’t stopped me from doing exactly that, with full awareness, since 2021 on the Polski Aficionado blog – of which I’m a proud founder.

It all started in September 2020, when – through a series of events that fueled my fascination – I sat down with my first truly intentional cigar. Since then, I’ve been smoking cigars non-stop, discovering with each one just how vast this world is and how much it can still surprise me.
At the beginning of 2021, I picked up a pipe as well. My senses went into overdrive – and they haven’t calmed down since.
It couldn’t just stop at enjoying cigars. In 2022, we launched the Spotkanie z Dymem podcast, which I co-host with Mateusz. It quickly became an integral part of Polski Aficionado.
I talk about cigars, I write about cigars, and with every new stick, I keep learning more. That element of surprise is what drives every new expression and every idea we bring to life as Polski Aficionado.
